This event is dear to my heart and I am excited to be a part of it, there will be a real African flavour and lovely heart warming people present. As well as performances by myself TC Musumba and young local amazing singer called Orla, there will be a drum circle, makeovers, massages and a raffle.

It is in aid of an 18 year old Gambian girl called Aji going home to see her mum after 10 years apart, she has been brought up by Juliet Rust who was technically her step-mum for less than a year but continued to bring her up even when Aji’s father left them.

Aji originally came for heart surgery and because there were less opportunities to get the healthcare and education in the Gambia than was available here, her mother asked Juliet to continue looking after her. A grandmother herself, Juliet has got herself in debt paying for Aji to have a passport and citizenship and didn’t have the money to fly Aji home to reunite with her Gambian family so she conceived this beautiful event tol hopefully fund the ticket and clear some of her debts. Aji is a talented, studious and popular young lady and it will be wonderful to see such a beautiful event happening to show her just how loved she is.
